Ellie Sedgwick lives and works in rural Suffolk and has been exhibiting there for over twenty-five years.

After graduating from the University of Sussex, Ellie has been involved in teaching art, theatre arts and drama to both children and adults for the last thirty years.

Since ending her full time teaching career as Head of Expressive Arts at Lothingland Middle School, Ellie has been able to devote more time to creating her own work as well as continuing to offer talks and workshops to a wide range of adult groups with many different levels of experience.

Additionally, Ellie works as in-house designer for Waveney Theatre Company.

Ellie is perhaps best known locally for her work on still life and, in particular, Suffolk landscapes, featuring a strong emphasis on the astonishing qualities of the region’s light, for which she has a great passion.

Less well known is her work on Chinese style painting and abstract art, both of which she sees as offering different yet equally fascinating opportunities to explore space and colour.
